18th Century Beehive Glass Gin Decanter C1770

Technical Description

A superb 18th century Beehive decanter dating to c1770.

It has its original solid ball stopper above a circular poring rim and a conical bowl with six annular sections. Polished pontil.

You can find an example of this decanter in “The Decanter Ancient to Modern” page 93 or “An Illustrated History of Glass from 1650? on page 109, both books by Andy McConnell. Fantastic "glass" books which cover a lot more than just decanters.

Excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration. Clean and clear.
