L.c. Tiffany Favrile Bowl

Description

This is a rather beautiful Favrile bowl, manufactured by LCT Tiffany, and probably dating from the end of the 19th century.

The bowl is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear commensurate with use.

The bowl measures 25 cm (10 inches) in diameter across the bowl rim. The bowl is 10 cm (4 inches) in height. The bowl has highlights of pinks and blues in its iridescence. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. The words "5_ LCT Tiffany Inc. Favrile 16394" are etched into the base of the bowl. The fact that there are no letters in the serial number probably means a late 19th century date of manufacture.

The bowl weighs 900 g. (~ 2 lb.).
