Fine Westminster Chime Walnut Wall Clock (France, C. 1900)

1900 - 1920
Description

A very good quality French wall clock. It has a solid walnut case with an arched top and carved cresting, and an inverted pad base with a carved panel. The pendulum is visible through a shaped bevel edge glass window with ornate eschucheon and key. The enamel dial has an embossed bezel and is signed "F. de Saintilan, Paris". It has an 8 day movement which has Westminster (Big Ben) chimes on the quarters and double French hour striking on the hours.It has a wood rod pendulum with a brass cylinder bob. F DE SAINTILAN, PARIS (c.1880-1910)

Current Condition

A very original clock. The case retains its original finish, the metalwork has its original gilded finish. The movement has been serviced and is guarnteed for 12 months
