Geo III Mahogany Scottish Longcase Long Case Grandfather Clock
Status:This item has been sold Sold by:Cross Antiques
A most attractive Geo III Longcase clock by Alex Sim of Aberdeen, Scotland. He is listed as working there from 1790 to 1820.
The case is in very nicely figured mahogany with inlaid boxwood details.
The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a very smart white dial with a well painted sailing ship to the arch. It also has subsidiary seconds and date dials.
The case is in good unrestored condition, has retained its original finish and is a lovely colour. It does have the odd mark and knock associated with age and use.
The movement is in good working order and keeping good time. It looks to have recently been serviced.
Free local delivery and set up (50mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
