Victorian Iron- Bound Silver Box

Description

Fabulous Victorian iron- bound oak chest in wonderful antique condition. This striking chest feature two large wrought iron carry handles to each side and a brass name plate. There is also a label stuck to the underside of the lid with the words "ou le sort appelle" Translate to" where fate calls" The name "Frances" is also inscribed. Another label provides some of the chest's history. The interior is lined with attractive floral fabric, which is clean and free of rips or tears. This chest boasts a wonderful aged colour and masses of character, making it a striking feature as a coffee table or storage seat.
