This piece of case furniture is a fine example of the French buffet deux corps, or two part buffet. This example is made from cherry wood of excellent colour.
The bottom section has square panelling and there are two small drawers in between the two tiers of cupboards. The interiors of both cupboards consist of single adjustable shelves, allowing the space to be reconfigured. Having particularly fine brassware throughout, the escutcheons and drawer pulls being extremely decorative.
