A Lovely Edwardian Art Nouveau Silver Lidded Inkwell

A gorgeous Edwardian silver and glass inkwell. This attractive piece has a silver hinged lid and collar over the champagne coloured glass body (which is heavy and doubles as a paperweight). The lid has a repousse design of an Art Nouveau maiden and opens to reveal a deep ink reservoir and a glass ink liner. The body is of squat and rounded form and the base is cut underneath with a multi point star. This fine example is a handsome collector's piece, both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits to the silver and no chips or cracks to the glass. There is the expected wear to the base, commensurate with age and use.

Hallmarks :- Softening but readable. Loss to the Maker's mark.
