Despite minor differences, they are from the same era and have been together for a significant portion of their history.
Each cabinet preserves its original decoration without any restoration, lavishly adorned with raised gilt gesso and gilt pen work on a Black Japanned Lacquer background, depicting typical Chinese life scenes characteristic of that time. Both cabinets also retain their brass butterfly hinges, escutcheons, and the original locks and keys.
They are in excellent country house antique condition, displaying the usual signs of wear that are to be expected with their considerable age.
