Tazzas were popular in the Victorian era as elevated serving dishes for fruit, sweetmeats, and desserts, often produced by prominent English glassworks such as Molineux & Webb.

They were typically manufactured using pressed or mould-blown glass, frequently incorporating coloured glass powders or overlays, such as cranberry or ruby glass, fused to clear or frosted crystal.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the weight of the glass, the presence of pontil marks or mould seams, surface wear patterns, and specific maker marks or registered design numbers where applicable.

They can be used as decorative centrepieces on dining tables, displayed on sideboard tops, or utilized to hold small collectables, adding a touch of historical colour and texture to contemporary spaces.

Antique glass should be washed gently by hand in lukewarm water using a mild detergent, avoiding harsh scrubbing, abrasive chemicals, and sudden temperature changes to prevent cracking.
