Made by renowned silver maker Sampson Mordan, this Victorian silver scent bottle is exquisite. Cylindrical in form, the ribbed surface pattern spirals around the case in a deeply textured design, very finely engraved and wonderfully tactile. The top and base of the silver are in smooth polished silver.The lid hinges open to reveal the scent bottle with its glass liner and a nicely shaped glass stopper. The collar of the bottle and the interior of the lid have a warm silver gilt finish, adding a luxurious touch to this super quality scent / perfume bottle. A really beautiful item by a highly collectible maker, this is a true collectors piece and would make a wonderful gift. Hallmarked to the base by the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1890 and the Sampson Mordan & Co maker''s mark. Condition: the silver is in super condition. There is a small chip to the bottom rim of the glass stopper but this is minor and does not affect the fit of the stopper in any way...
