18th-century Bohemian glass is renowned for its high-clarity potash crystal, heavy faceting, and elaborate hand-painted gilding or enamelling, often influenced by Baroque and Rococo design motifs of Central Europe.

These pieces were typically crafted from blown potash-lime or lead glass, featuring hand-cut fluting or panel facets, and decorated with cold-painted gold leaf or gold paint that was thermally fixed to the surface.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor surface wear, subtle inconsistencies typical of hand-blown and hand-cut production, and patination on the gilding, alongside pontil marks on the base where the glassblowers iron was detached.

Display these items inside glass-fronted cabinets or on mirrored trays to highlight their reflective qualities, pairing them with minimalist modern furnishings to create a sophisticated contrast between old and new.

Clean these items strictly by hand using lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh scrubbing, abrasive cloths, or dishwashers to protect the delicate historical gilding from wearing away.
