An exceptional antique overshot glass pitcher made in France by Bacarrat in the early 20th century.
The jug appears in the Baccarat catalouge on 1916. The jug itself is rare enough, but in green it is a rare piece indeed.

Overshot glass was made during the Victorian era in many different locations, including England, Europe and the USA where Boston & Sandwich made some outstanding decorative and functional pieces. It is created by rolling the hot glass in tiny pieces of broken glass and then reheated to remove the sharp edges producing a very rustic look and feel.
