N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated these French Amboyna Bedside Cabinets to the Victorian era.
This is the first chance we have had to list Amboyna bedsides cabinets. These can be used as a bed side cabinet or would equally look wonderful as a pair of lamp stands with the added benefit of storage. The grain to the Amboyna is truly exquisite.
The top has half matched amboyna veneers to the centre which is framed in stringing inlay and wide cross banding. Below the top there is door which again has half matched amboyna veneers to the centre which is framed in stringing inlay and wide cross banding. In addition the doors have lovely applied decoration of flowers in an urn / vase which sets it off beautifully. The cabinets have opposite opening doors. The door opens via a lock and key which is working to reveal a shelf in one cabinet and four drawers in the other. The cabinets are then raised on plinths.
These cabinets are superb quality as can be seen from the photographs.

The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are:
13 1/2 inches (34 cm) wide
16 1/4 inches (41 cm) deep.
30 3/8 inches (77 cm) high.
From the above dimensions is can be seen that this cupboard is of lovely proportions.
AGE:
The cabinets are antique and date to circa 1860.
CONDITION:
The cabinets are in lovely condition as you will note from the photographs, there are just minor knocks / marks commensurate with age and very careful use. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
