A Fine French Decorative Carriage Clock

19th century
Description

A particularly fine quality late 19th century French CARRIAGE CLOCK in perfect working order. The case is unusual, basically “Anglaise Riche” style, with the addition of lovely pierced; engraved and gilded panels to the sides and the back door, whilst the very fine enamel dial features a similar pierced, engraved and gilded mask. The eight-day movement strikes hours and half hours, repeating the hours at will via the button to the top. The clock retains its original platform lever escapement. An impressive and superb quality Carriage Clock. French, circa 1880.
