A handsome antique Georgian side cabinet in figured mahogany dating from circa 1810 converted from a commode. With twin doors over a fixed front it opens to reveal storage space with a single fixed half-shelf. The doors lock and it comes with a working key. In beautifully figured mahogany with ebony line inlay, it has attractive brass lions mask handles to the doors and stands on a shaped plinth base. This piece would have originally started life as a commode / chamber pot cupboard and has been converted into a side cabinet at some point. A high quality piece it would make a lovely side cabinet, hall cupboard or TV unit or could be used for storage in a hall or bedroom.
