A very good Old Sheffield Plated lidded tankard, dating to the late 18th Century to the early 19th Century. Bearing no makers marks but with visible seams. Wonderful tactile and heavy object with an ornately decorated thumb piece and turned wooden base. The interior is very clean but with a false bottom.
The condition is good with some copper bleed to the raised edges as to be expected. Possibly a small early repair to the hinged lid. Slight misshaping to base.
