Rare 19th Century Snake Ring Glass Decanter C1840

Technical Description
 
A rare example of a 19th century glass decanter. It has a bullseye stopper with continuous snake ring trailing around the neck. Flanged base which is designed to keep the wine cooler with a polished pontil.
 
You can find an example of this style of snake ring decanter on page 165 and 167 of ''The Decanter, Ancient to Modern'' by Andy McConnell.

Condition
 
Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration, clean and clear. The bullseye stopper is earlier replacement.
