Japanese Shakudo and Mixed Metal Vase - Nogawa Company

Description

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this charming Meiji period (1868-1912) solid shakudo lobed vase by the highly respected Nogawa company, the vase made from an alloy containing a percentage of gold and perfected over the centuries by the Japanese metalworkers in order to create a magical black patination, this complex lobed vase has been further inlaid with mixed metal floral decoration painstakingly laid into the body of the vase in exquisite detail, signed to the underside with the Nogawa seal , a fine addition to your Japanese metalwork or works of art collection .
