Superb Eight Day Longcase Clock by Anderson of Preston.

A magnificent eighteenth century, Longcase clock, by Richard Anderson of Preston. The clock is in a Gillows quality, flame cuban mahogany case, with Chippendale gothic door and cluster columns, the broken swan neck hood with blind fret work and superb quality ormolu mounts. The dial is a finely painted enamel dial with typical north country birds to the centre and a moon phase to the arch. The eight day movement is of the quality one would expect for this type of clock and as well as the moonphase there are seconds and date sudsidiaries. The whole is in superb condition, is guaranteed original, and in full working order.

The trunk door contains a label that shows the clock came from the now demolished Tullichewan Castle which was near Loch Lomond and belonged to the Campbell family.
