Georgian glassware, produced during the reigns of Kings George I to IV, is characterised by heavy lead-metal composition, hand-blown manufacturing techniques, and often features cut, engraved, or moulded decorative motifs.

These vessels were typically crafted from heavy lead glass, often referred to as flint glass, shaped using free-blowing or mould-blowing techniques, and finished with hand-cut fluting, neck rings, and fitted stoppers.

Authenticity is indicated by a heavy pontil mark on the base, characteristic surface wear or scratches appropriate to age, minor air bubbles within the glass matrix, and a deep ring when tapped.

Antique decanters can be displayed on sideboards, within drinks cabinets, or on open shelving to introduce historical texture, transparency, and reflective surfaces to a modern room scheme.

Antique glass should be washed by hand using warm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives, extreme temperature changes, and prolonged soaking to protect the fragile surface finish.
