The carpet has a design of two vertical rows of five medallions, the design of the medallions is associated with the Timuri tribes. The colour palette of soft madder red and clear indigo blue is also a Timuri feature. The linked lotus leaf border is very well drawn and usually found on early examples of Timuri work.
