Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Qashqai rugs originate from the nomadic Qashqai tribes of southwestern Iran, primarily in the Zagros Mountains region. Woven during the 19th and early 20th centuries, these textiles reflect tribal identity through spontaneous geometric patterns, diamond lattices, and stylised flora and fauna motifs.

Traditional Qashqai rugs are hand-knotted using hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and the warp and weft foundation. The wool is dyed using natural plant and mineral sources, creating rich shades of deep red, navy blue, ochre, and ivory.

Authentic pieces feature an all-wool foundation, flexible handle, asymmetric knotting, and subtle colour variations known as abrash. Design characteristics include repeated diamond lattices, dense multi-band borders, and small tribal animal imagery inserted throughout the field.

A tribal Persian rug serves as a textural anchor when placed over neutral timber or stone flooring in living areas and hallways. The geometric pattern complements contemporary minimalist furniture by introducing visual depth and rich colour contrast.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting without a rotating brush to prevent fiber damage. Use a dense rug pad underneath to stabilize the weave and consult a professional textile restorer for periodic cleaning.
