Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The hood has a decorative fretted top with brass ball finials. The moulded trunk door has a working lock and key.

The later 3 train movement, probably fitted in the Victorian period, chimes the quarters on a nest of 8 bells and strikes the hours on the largest of these bells. The smart brass dial has gilt spendrels and silvered chapter ring. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and a selector for 4 or 8 bells.

The case looks good but has had some historical repairs, particularly to the base.
The movement is in good unrestored working order and keeping good time.
The dimensions stated exclude the centre finial, this will add 11cm to the height
