It strikes the number of hours on the hour with a very crisp, clear tone.The 12'' cream coloured dial has black Roman numerals and is clearly signed by the maker, ''J. Toms & Co. Kensington''. He is recorded in Loomes ''Clock makers of the World'' as working in London around 1818.The dial is completed by a heavy cast brass bezel with a silvered sight ring.
