Victorian enamelled and gilded glassware production peaked in the late 19th century, drawing inspiration from earlier Bohemian and Venetian decorative traditions while incorporating contemporary industrial techniques.

These pieces were typically crafted from potash or lead glass, hand-blown into moulds or free-blown, and then hand-decorated with low-firing enamel paints and gold leaf.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor hand-blown imperfections such as tiny air bubbles, pontil marks on the base, and slight wear to the hand-applied gilding consistent with age.

Antique stemware can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, on open shelving as a focal point, or integrated carefully into tablescapes for special occasions.

Antique glass should always be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding abrasive materials or dishwashers to protect the delicate enamel and gold decoration.
