Technical Description
A rare 19th-century ''snifter'' glass dating to c1870. It has a wide cup bowl with a short plain stem on a conical foot with a ''T'' sheer/gadget mark on the pontil dating it to the 2nd half of the 19th century.
Designed to sit in the palm of your hand, the stem through the middle two fingers, much like a modern brandy glass and used in a similar way...brandy was a popular drink in the 19th century and the glass would have been used for Brandy, Whisky, or any other drink where the smell was an important element.
