Large Silver Carriage Clock 1916

1900 - 1920
Description

It's not often you will get to see one of these, an exceptional and rare, extra large, solid silver, striking carriage clock in the style of the smaller timepieces of the period. This clock also retains the original outer leather covered case. The hallmarks date it to 1916 with the date letter 'r' and the clock has a makers stamp for William Comyns (superb silvermiths and still trading) and 'R.B' for Sir Richard Burbidge the chairman of Harrods , London (an interesting gentleman who you can read about on Wikipedia)  Just completed a full 'strip down' service and now carries our 24month guarantee.
