This giant single fusee dial clock would have been made for a public space like a railway station. Made By Swinden and Sons of Birmingham, it has a superb eight day single fusee movement held in pilon shaped plates with anchor escapement and large spade hands in front of a cream painted Roman dial. The case is of light polished oak with a large brass bezel.
Swinden & Sons of Birmingham are well documented in McKenna''s ''Clockmakers of Central England'' book and were established in 1825.
