Clockwise is delighted to welcome into its collection this extremely fine quality oak bracket clock from the esteemed makers Winterhalder and Hofmeier. This clock has a restored decorative brass dial with spandrels to the corners, a matted finish to the dial inner and a silvered chapter ring. The clock is another high quality fantastic Winterhalder and Hofmeier ting tang movement that strikes the three quarters on two gongs and the hour on a solitary gong. Original hands compliment the overall appearance and the case has decorative blockwork panels to the top and bottom of the case, dentil decoration below the shaped and carved pattern to the upper part of the case and Corinthian-style pillars flanking the brass bezel.

Winterhalder & Hofmeier were considered the finest clockmakers of the Victorian era and were based in Germany’s Black Forest region. The company was established in 1810 and in 1850 Anton Hofmeier joined the company, who was himself a clockmaker and relative to the Winterhalder family. The company then became known as Winterhalder and Hofmeier. This is the larger size of this style available and has been fully restored; standing 16.5 inches tall it comes with its original pendulum, working locks and winding key, and has my standard three-year global warranty
