The case is crafted from oak with turned columns to the hood, long door to the centre of the case standing on a shaped plinth base.

Benjamin Reeves is a recorded clockmaker working in Lamberhurst, Kent, circa 1740 until his death in 1790. He is also known to have worked on a church clock in Battle in 1774.
