18TH CENTURY CARVED FRENCH YEW WOOD AND CHESTNUT ARMOIRE CIRCA 1780.
 
THIS SORT OF ARMOIRE IS ALSO KNOWN AS A MARRIAGE ARMOIRE.
 
CORNICE AND FRONT ARE PROFUSELY INLAID WITH A LEAF DESIGN, WITH A SNAKE FLOWING UP THE MIDDLE OF THE DOORS, WITH PIERCED METAL ESCUTHEON PLATE. RARE ADDITION TO THIS PIECE IS A CARVED RIGHT FACING EAGLE TO THE LOWER FRIEZE. STANDING ON SCROLLED LEGS.
 
DOUBLE DOORS OPEN TO REVEAL A SINGLE OAK SHELF, WHICH IS IN 3 SECTIONS.
