Georgian berry spoons are typically 18th-century tablespoons that were later embellished during the Victorian era with embossed fruit and floral motifs, often used for serving desserts or soft fruits.

These items are crafted from sterling silver, featuring hand-chased and repousse work where designs are hammered and punched from the reverse side to create raised surface relief.

Authentic pieces bear English hallmarks stamped into the metal, including a standard mark, a town mark, a duty mark indicating the monarchs head, and a date letter corresponding to the assay office.

Antique silver can be displayed in glass-fronted cabinets, used as part of a tablescape on sideboards, or incorporated into open dining room shelving to add historic contrast.

Preserve antique silver by storing it in tarnish-resistant cloth, washing it by hand with mild soap when necessary, and avoiding abrasive polishes that wear away thin silver layers and hallmarks.
