18th Century Silver Serving Spoon

Description

A good example of a large solid Sterling silver spoon. It is a large tablespoon size or small serving spoon. It is a simple design with engraved initials 'M*B' on the back of the handle and decorative scrollwork joining the handle to the back of the bowl. It is a good quality piece and weighs approximately 57g.

It is clearly hallmarked for London, 1766.

It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

Length : 8 1/4" / 21cm

Bowl : 3" / 7.5cm x 1 1/2" / 4cm
