Description

A quality French brass cased striking carriage clock of larger proportions. A silvered dial chapter ring and central gilt filigree. A lovely gilt fretted dial surround of floral design. A gilded brass case with a fluted carrying handle. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Push button repeating. A lever escapement. The original carrying case. Marked to the dial 'R Stewart, Paris and the Maurice stamp to the back of the mechanism. Circa 1900.
