Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 1920 rustic country cabinet is constructed from warm brown pine with a glazed door enclosing internal wooden shelves. The piece exhibits a moulded cornice, vertical reeded moulding down the front frame panels, and a simple wooden door handle. Hand signwriting in gold, red and brown lettering across the glass advertises Old Mill Bakery and Hovis Strength in Every Slice, complemented by graphic depictions of a mill and wheat stalks. Distressed wear is visible across the timber surfaces from age and use. Measuring 121 cm high, 65 cm wide and 30 cm deep, the cupboard works well in a kitchen, dining room or commercial cafeteria setting to store tableware, foodstuffs or display items behind the glass door.

FAQs

Vintage pine bread cabinets were traditionally utilised in bakeries and domestic kitchens during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to store and display freshly baked goods while keeping them protected behind glass.

These cabinets are crafted using solid pine timber, often featuring tongue-and-groove backing, mortise and tenon joinery, and clear glass panel doors with moulded framing.

Authentic pieces show natural timber shrinkage, historic nail marks, original glass irregularities, and natural wear to the pine finish around handles and edges.

Incorporate the piece into a modern country kitchen or dining area as a display cabinet for ceramics, glassware, or dry pantry goods to add warmth and historic character.

Clean the glass with a soft microfibre cloth and gentle cleaner, while applying natural clear beeswax to the pine surfaces periodically to nourish the wood and protect the finish.
