Description
This is a remarkable Museum quality twin fusee English bracket clock by the premier clockmaker Dent of London maker of Big Ben. The only work we have carried out is to overhaul the magnificent heavy twin chain driven fusee movement, one of the very best English movements you will ever see. It strikes the hours and the half hours on a large sonorous coiled gong, deep and resonant. It is currently running at plus 10 seconds per day. The domed top flame mahogany case is perfect with no scratches or damage, it measures 14 inches high, 9 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches deep. The silvered dial is 6 inches in diameter and in perfect condition. The hands are a beautiful peacock blue. The sides are decorated with traditional Lions head masks with fish scale fret work panels backed by red velvet Its the most original example you will ever see. A museum quality collectors piece that should last many hundreds of years. This is a true heirloom clock.
