Havard and Havard has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
This form of construction is associated with Breconshire and Radnorshire and often described as being of “Black Mountains-type”. The original wooden strut hinges have, at some point, been replaced by the current metal ones.
Probably Breconshire/Radnorshire circa 1650-1700.
