Small Scottish Longacase Clock

19th century
Description

A small mahaogany cased longcase clock. It has a flat top with a circular dial with cross banded corners and a figured frieze. The trunk has figure mahogany panels with a matched cross banded door. Standing on small bracket feet. It had s a 13" circular painted dial with a subsidiary seconds and date dials. It is signed "R Stewart, Glasgow". The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell.

c.1850 R Stewart is listed as a maker in Glasgow in 1841-1860

The case has been repolished in recent years, the movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months (our professional servicing includes cleaning, any necessary bushing, pivot polishing, testing and timing)
