Clockwise is delighted to present to you this very fine and substantial German oak bracket clock by the famous Lenzkirch clock company. The movement has just been overhauled and as you can see by the photos is in excellent condition benefitting from my three year guarantee. This lovely clock has a 'ting-tang' mechanism striking two different notes for every quarter and the full hour on one gong. The movement is stamped by the maker on the reverse and has the '1 million' mark to signify this landmark figure for movements produced being achieved.

The stunning brass dial has foliate spandrels and contains two silvered chapter rings - one for the time and one for the timekeeping on the upper subsidiary dial. Being fully restored this dial also has a matted brass centre.

The oak case is in excellent condition with a decorative relief pattern to the caddy top, corinthian columns and an opening/locking rear door for movement access and a full opening front door also.

The Lenzkirch factories made probably the best of the German factory-produced clocks and this is an excellent example of a fine mechanism made by this prestigious maker. Using the company's own records and from the serial number on the movement rear this clock can be accurately dated back to 1870.

All in all a lovely and fully restored piece of imposing antique workmanship.
