Vicky Thomas Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The Chandelier comprises of a Japanese Cloisonne enamel baluster vase of the Meiji period (1863-1912) , which has been incorporated into a gilt bronze mount holding the arms which are decorated with floral panels and sunflowers.

Originally made as a candle chandelier, it has now been completely restored by an antique lighting specialist and has been converted to electricity. I was unable to photograph the lights switched on, as the lamp is wired to be fitted into the ceiling, so isn't powered by a socket.

The chandelier measures 53cm across, and is 49cm tall, with a 90cm flex ( which can be shortened to taste) and comes with a 60cm hanging chain - once gilded bronze, much of the gilding has now been lost to time, revealing the bronze underneath - this has a wonderful rich patina and with the gilt highlights, displays beautifully, as I hope the photographs show - the light really catching the detail.
I offer free delivery throughout the UK, and am very happy to help with quotes for shipping abroad.
