We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Revolving piano stools gained popularity in the 19th century as upright and grand pianos became household fixtures, requiring adjustable seating for musicians of varying heights.

These pieces were typically crafted from dense hardwoods like mahogany or walnut, featuring a central wooden threaded screw mechanism that allowed the seat height to be adjusted by turning.

Authenticity is indicated by hand-cut threads on the central wooden screw, traditional joinery methods, patination on the timber, and maker marks or stamps on the underside.

This piece works effectively as an occasional seat in a living room, a vanity stool, or a functional decorative accent paired with a desk or dressing table.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying a traditional beeswax polish to nourish the wood.
