Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of 1920 pendant lights draws inspiration from the French Chateau style, functioning as antique hall lanterns or reception room lights. Each lantern comprises a warm brass frame holding numerous hanging rectangular crystal prisms and circular glass beads, surrounding a central light bulb with a glowing illumination. The fixtures display decorative top galleries, visible electrical wiring, and small round finials at their lower extremities. Brass hardware secures the structural elements together. Each piece measures 17.78 cm high, 25.40 cm wide, and 25.40 cm deep, with an additional 10.16 cm allowance for the original ceiling rose. These mounted ceiling fixtures bring period character to hallways, entryways, or reception spaces when installed overhead. The clear glass components refract light effectively into surrounding areas. Both units come re-wired and ready for installation in a home today.

FAQs

An antique crystal hall lantern is a decorative hanging ceiling light fixture featuring a brass or metal frame lined with cut glass or crystal prisms, historically used in entryways and hallways during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to maximise light diffusion.

These fixtures are constructed using cast or pressed brass frames combined with lead crystal or glass prisms, drops, and beads linked together with metal pins or wire loops.

Authentic period pieces display hand-cut crystal facets, brass frames with natural oxidisation, and hand-bent wire connectors, often accompanied by original threaded lampholders rather than modern plastic fittings.

A crystal hall lantern can be suspended in a hallway, entryway, or over a dining space to create visual contrast between historic brass detailing and contemporary wall colours.

Dust the fixture regularly with a soft dry cloth and clean crystal prisms individually using a solution of mild detergent and warm water, ensuring all electrical components remain dry.
