This George III Sheraton period double corner cupboard originates from the 18th century and is made of mahogany with boxwood and satinwood stringing. The tall timber piece possesses a warm brown colour with visible grain patterns and fine line inlay accenting the panelled doors. Brass H-hinges secure the upper and lower doors, complemented by decorative brass escutcheons. Architectural mouldings frame the top cornice and divide the upper and lower sections, while the entire structure stands on bracket feet. The dimensions are 84 cm high, 72 cm wide, and 68 cm deep. Placed in a corner of a living room, dining room, or hallway, the cupboard provides practical storage space for crockery, glassware, or books while adding traditional English country house character to an interior.

Originating in the late 18th century, Sheraton double corner cupboards are two-tiered freestanding cabinets designed to fit into wall angles, featuring refined proportions, straight lines, and classical inlay decoration characteristic of Thomas Sheratons designs.

These pieces were predominantly crafted using high-grade Cuban or West Indian mahogany veneers over oak or pine carcases, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, brass H-hinges, and delicate stringing inlay.

Authentic 18th-century pieces display hand-sawn backboards, original brass cut-out escutcheons or H-hinges, natural timber shrinkage along joints, and uneven interior tool marks consistent with period woodworking techniques.

Position the piece in an underutilised room corner to create vertical height, balancing its dark timber tones alongside lighter neutral walls, contemporary abstract artwork, or textured linen soft furnishings.

Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year following the grain direction, maintain stable humidity levels to avoid timber movement, and position the cabinet away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
