Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Georgian revival water jug dates from the late Victorian period, specifically around 1890. Made from clear lead crystal, the pitcher displays a poured spout, a curved loop handle, and horizontal step-cut mouldings around the neck. The lower body shows intricate strawberry diamond facets, starburst motifs, and a patterned base. Measuring 20 cm high, 19 cm wide, and 9.5 cm deep, the vessel occupies a modest footprint. In a modern interior, this piece sits neatly on a dining table or sideboard top to serve water or other beverages during meals. The clear glass construction allows it to reflect surrounding light while blending easily with existing tableware collections. Alternatively, the jug functions as a decorative container for fresh floral arrangements in a living space or kitchen.

FAQs

Georgian Revival glassware refers to late 19th and early 20th-century glass produced to emulate 18th-century designs, characterised by heavy lead crystal, geometric diamond cuts, and step-cut necks.

These items are typically crafted from blown lead crystal or flint glass, which allowed artisans to hand-cut deep geometric patterns and polish the surfaces for high clarity.

Authentic pieces feature sharp, hand-cut faceting, high refractive clarity, significant visual weight, and often a starburst pattern or polished pontil mark on the base.

A cut glass jug functions as a functional dining table water pitcher, a vessel for fresh floral arrangements, or a decorative accent on a dining room sideboard.

Wash cut glass by hand using lukewarm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft cloth, avoiding dishwashers and sudden temperature changes that cause cracking.
