Edwardian silverware, produced between 1901 and 1910, is characterized by refined classical proportions, delicate reeding, and fluting, departing from the heavier ornamentation of the earlier Victorian period.

These jars were typically raised from sterling silver adhering to the 925 purity standard, incorporating techniques such as spinning, fluting, and hand-stamping with official assay hallmarks.

Authentic items bear British hallmarks consisting of a makers mark, town assay symbol such as the Sheffield crown, lion passant indicating sterling purity, and a specific date letter.

A silver jar can be positioned on a sideboard, vanity tray, or bathroom counter to store small items while introducing metallic texture and historic detail to modern surfaces.

Maintain sterling silver by dusting with a non-abrasive silver cloth or applying mild silver polish, ensuring complete drying to prevent tarnishing while avoiding harsh chemicals.
