During the Victorian era, scent flasks were popular vanity accessories designed to hold perfumes or smelling salts, often crafted from cased cut glass with silver or gold fittings.

They were typically crafted using hand-blown or cased glass in vivid shades such as cobalt blue or ruby red, finished with sterling silver or silver-gilt collars and stoppers.

Authentic pieces feature crisp hand-cut glass details, silver hallmarks or makers marks on the metal collars, and individually fitted ground-glass stoppers.

Small glass scent bottles function as subtle decorative accents when arranged on vanity trays, bathroom countertops, bedside tables, or styled on bookshelves.

Rinse the glass interior gently with lukewarm water, avoid submerging metal collars in water, and wipe silver elements with a soft, non-abrasive cloth to remove oxidisation.
