FAQs

Queen Anne style furniture emerged in the early 18th century and is characterised by restrained elegance, pad feet, curved cabriole legs, and the extensive use of figured walnut veneers.

These desks are predominantly constructed using solid timber frames overlaid with highly figured burr walnut veneers, complemented by cast brass drop handles and hand-cut joinery.

Key identifying features include S-shaped cabriole legs, shell or acanthus carvings on the knees, matching burr walnut veneer patterns across drawer fronts, and classic kneehole architecture.

Position the desk against a neutral painted wall, pair it with an upholstered desk chair, and add minimal brass lighting to highlight the natural timber grain.

Dust surfaces regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, apply a high-grade beeswax polish twice annually following the wood grain, and keep the piece away from direct sunlight or radiators.
