We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Victorian scent bottles are characterised by intricate craftsmanship, often combining faceted cut glass or crystal bodies with heavily embossed or chased sterling silver caps and lids.

These items were typically crafted using hand-blown or cut glass, often coloured or clear, paired with solid sterling silver mounts, collars, and hinged lids, frequently bearing British hallmarks.

Authenticity is determined by checking for clear silver hallmarks indicating the assay office, date letter, and makers mark, alongside period-appropriate manufacturing techniques such as hand-cut facets and genuine cork or ground-glass stoppers.

They can be displayed on decorative mirrored trays on dressing tables, incorporated into bathroom shelving displays, or styled atop stackable books on a mantlepiece to add a touch of period elegance.

Maintain silver using a soft microfibre cloth to clean without abrasive polishes, avoid submerging vintage stoppers or hinged components in water, and keep them away from direct sunlight to preserve glass colour.
