Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Silver produced during the reign of King George VI (1936 to 1952) often reflects traditional craftsmanship combined with pre and post-war austerity, featuring clean lines alongside classic ornamentation and official British hallmarks.

Antique napkin rings are predominantly crafted from sterling silver, silver-plate, or occasionally bone and ivory, typically shaped using sheet metal forming techniques and decorated via hand engraving, repousse, or applied cast motifs.

Authenticity is verified by locating official British hallmarks stamped on the metal, which typically include a makers mark, a standard mark indicating purity (such as a lion passant for sterling silver), a town mark, and a date letter.

Antique silver pieces add character and historical contrast to contemporary table settings, pairing well with minimalist ceramics, crisp linen tablecloths, and organic centrepieces to bridge traditional and modern aesthetics.

Sterling silver should be cleaned periodically using a specialised non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to remove tarnish, and stored in a dry, tarnish-resistant fabric pouch or lined box when not in use.
