This French duet stool dates from 1860 in the Louis XVI style. The piece comprises an oval giltwood frame finished in gold, supported by fluted legs and joined by a carved H-stretcher with decorative mouldings. A contrasting yellow silk satin upholstered cushion rests atop the seat frame, bringing a vibrant pop of colour to the antique design. Surface wear appears on the gilt finish, showing the age and handling of the timber over the decades. The stool measures 53 cm high, 102 cm long, and 38 cm deep.
